Need a hand understanding how you should cook our pasta? Well Penney's here to guide you through every step of the way!

You just got our pasta?
Just a quick few things you should know about

What to do when I get your pasta?
When you receive our pasta, our recommendation is to put it in the freezer straight away! This is to reduce the chance of it thawing out which can be quite easy to do if you're not careful. If it thaws out it's not the end of the world but it does affect the quality and the texture of the pasta especially if it's a filled one. It can become mushy and undesirable.

Do I need to thaw out before cooking?
Most definitely not! Like we've said above it alters the pasta if you do so. So, if you're cooking our pasta throw it straight into the pot when its boiling to maintain the quality and excellence of our pasta.
Want some tips to help when cooking the pasta?
Here are some guidelines to help you out

Don't over salt the water!
There is an often misconception that our pasta water needs to be as salty as the sea. That's a myth. You just need 10-12 grams of salt per liter of water you use for a pasta. In case you're wondering it's recommended that you use 5-6 liters of water per kg of pasta you cook.

How long does it take to cook the pasta?
Well, that depends on the type and thickness of the pasta. During our trials we have found it in general it takes around 4-5 minuets to cook fully. So, while use this as a base line we still recommend that you always check the pasta so it's to your liking. We recommend to test by grabbing a piece of our pasta and running it under cold water to stop it cooking straight away and give it a bite to see where it's at.

But how do I get that 'al dente' everyone keeps talking about?
'Al Dente' which translates 'To the Tooth' is arguably the best way to consume pasta, but it's not for everyone. If you like your pasta softer and without a bite best to ignore this. To check you have achieved al dente when you test the pasta by biting into it, the inside should be a thin pale core in the middle. Additionally, when you eat it should be clean, but have a slight bite at the center.
